The Beauty of Frederick, Maryland

The Schifferstadt Museum Frederick, Maryland

The Schifferstadt Museum in Frederick Maryland is an excellent example of the early German architecture that characterized the homes of  early settlers of the region. The house dates from the mid-1700s and now acts as a museum and home to Frederick's annual Oktoberfest gathering. The German town of Schifferstadt is the "sister city" of Frederick, just as Hagerstown's sister city is Wessel (pronounced "vay-zel") Germany.
