Welcome to my musings about fitness on the Web. Since
becoming single again in 2002, getting in shape has become a passion for
me. Even though I have only been partially successful in my fitness
goals, I keep on trying, and like many of you, I want to share my
successes and failures. By communicating with you, we can encourage each
other to work out harder, achieve discipline, and make positive changes
in our behaviors that will lead us to live longer and happier lives.
This journal is not just about physical fitness, but it's about
emotional and spiritual fitness too. The mind and body are not separate
systems, but they work together, each having an impact on the other. I may feel
the need to share feelings and emotions with you as well. Of course,
bearing my soul to the entire world is risky business. So it's important
that I show good judgment and reveal only those aspects of my inner self
that are appropriate for this type of forum.
This fitness journal is a mirror of the AOL blog I started recently
entitled "Basketball Diaries." I'll post content in both
places to reach the largest audience. In fact my first entry here will
consist of the content I have already posted, just to get everyone
caught up. I hope the journal is a valuable resource for you. If
anything, this journal will let you know there is another person out
there in the world dealing with the same issues as you, struggling with
those aspects of the modern world that conspire to make us flabby,
physically and emotionally. Feel free to share through your email
program, and if in my editorial wisdom and with your permission, you'd
like to see your comments online, I'll post them for the world to see.
